RIP Jimmy Buffett

I don’t ever go much deeper than “Margaritaville” and “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes,” but Jimmy Buffett has meant an awful lot to a lot of people throughout the U.S. Described as a “beach bum soft rocker,” Buffett was also an active businessman with lots of restaurants and resorts. I guess my main thought about him is that he was inspired to write a lot of his material while in Key West, Florida. And one of the albums I made, Monotremes’ A Bug is our Audience, featured album artwork of a couple old bum Parrotheads on the mean streets of Key West. Not to mention that I wore a lot of Hawaiian shirts in my mid-twenties, but I can’t say that look was ever inspired directly by Buffett.
